In an effort to keep our neighborhood safe, Seneca

patrol our city on a temporary basis in order to obstruct burglaries.
This request is waiting approval from Frankfort. To stay up-to-date on

Attention -
Seneca Gardens Residents
The
commissioners and I thought it important to let the residents of our
city know of an increase in criminal activity over the last several
weeks. There have been multiple break-ins of homes and vehicles, and
even a car stolen off the street on Seneca V alley Road. We encourage
you to:
-
Take any
valuables out of your car before you lock it
-
Keep the doors
and windows to you home locked, even while there is someone at home
-
Keep your
outside areas well-lit at night
-
Make sure to
report any crimes that take place
-
Let the Mayor
know if you are interested in participating in a formal BlockWatch
program (see the email address below)
We have contracted
with a new security ser vice, and LMPD off -duty officers will be
patrolling the city, enforcing traffic laws and helping with crime
prevention. Officers will be letting residents know if they find garage
doors wide open, or cars with purses, laptops, etc... in plain view.
These officers have full police power, and hopefully their presence will
help deter the criminal activity as well as the frequent disregard of
traffic laws, stop signs, etc. Residents should call 911 for emergencies
or 574-7636 for the 5th Division office on Douglass Blvd for non
emergency calls.
Send us your email
address, and you will be included on any future email "blasts"
concerning safety, security or other issues that may come up. Send a
note to
info@cityofsenecagardens.com and tell us to add you to list.
Another resource
you may want to know about is the Louisville Metro Police Department's
website at
http://www.louisvilleky.gov/MetroPolice/default.htm By visiting that
site and clicking on "Metrowatch", you should be able to get crime
statistics for our area for the last 30 days.

questions, please direct them to me at

Thank You,
Mayor David Brown
